ARCS 2017 Talent Show & Silent Auction

on Sun, 03/05/2017 - 00:00

ARCS 2017 Talent Show & Silent Auction: Made in Canada took place last night at the Gate at SAIT and, oh, what a night it was! Talent galore took the stage in a non-stop salute to Canadian music and Canadian artists. Appearances by "Captain Kirk", "Edith Prickley" and "Doug McKenzie" and Bob's hoser sister helped move the evening's three acts along in hilarious style (eh), while a full house bid on an array of Silent Auction items and a wine raffle.
The evening was a smorgasbord of talent from within the ranks of ARCS' "She's Up2Something" and "Up2Something" choirs - solos, duets, trios and ensembles dazzled and entertained. The audience was treated to 23 entries - from Gordon Lightfoot to Leonard Cohen, Ian Tyson to Alannah Myles - and everything in between.
A huge volunteer force supported this annual ARCS event, contributing hundreds of hours to planning, decorating, organizing, logistics, graphic design, set-up, tear-down, production, and much more. We are so grateful to each and everyone who played a part in the huge success of this event.
Our thanks to the many friends and family of ARCS who joined us to celebrate the incredible talent within our organization. This was a stellar presentation of fine performances and it was a pleasure and privilege to share it with our audience.
To those who took the stage - putting in so much time and effort in preparation for the event - BRAVO! Every single entry was a pleasure to hear and see. The musicianship, staging, and creativity were outstanding. As many said as the evening came to an end - "it just keeps getting better and better!" It doesn't get much better than that, eh?
