Congratulations Brian Bowman!

on Sun, 05/28/2017 - 20:37
When ARCS learned of the Con Spirito Award, we knew we had to nominate our Founder and Artistic Director, Brian Bowman, particularly since 2016-17 marks our 15th Anniversary season.  The award recognizes the spirit and dedication of individuals and their commitment to choral music in their local community. We were thrilled to learn he had won!  Choir Alberta noted the following in their notification letter:

“…the Choir Alberta Board was thrilled to receive your nomination last summer and voted unanimously in favour of your receiving the award.

And for good reason!  As was outlined in your letter of nomination, your vision, innovation, and commitment to choral music in Calgary is second to none.  Without a doubt, the lives of hundreds of individuals have been enhanced through their experience singing in one of your choirs.  Not only have your choristers learned the lifelong skill that is singing, but they have also experienced the joy of making music in community.  Thank you for sharing you knowledge and passion so freely with everyone who has the good fortune to sing with you!

Congratulations, Brian, on your outstanding choral work and accomplishments.  Indeed, you are a perfect embodiment of the Con Spirito Award.  Thank you for the important contributions you have made to choral music in the city of Calgary and our very best wishes s you continue your work."

ARCS 2016 Talent Show & Silent Auction

on Sat, 02/06/2016 - 22:32

ARCS annual Talent Show & Silent Auction is a highlight of the season!  Offering members of ARCS programs the opportunity to "strut their stuff", the Talent Show features solo, duet, trio and ensemble performances.  This year, Love is in the Air...and also at sea! The Talent Show and Silent Auction will invite audience passengers onto the ARCS SS Love Boat. We encourage our guests to dress in their favourite cruise ship or tacky tourist attire! And as we set sail, our passengers will be serenaded by none other than our very own ARCS members!

The Talent Show is now SOLD OUT!

ARCS still seeks items for the Silent Auction!  This event is one of our main fundraisers, helping to cover costs such as bursaries, artistic staff, and volunteer recognition, and we need your help.  Contact Robyn Jackson to confirm your donation, e: robyn.jackson@up2something.org
